Made to Stick or Made to Suck?

Hey fellas!

Hopefully everyone is making better progress this time as opposed to last time. I'm curious who among you have finished Surprised by Hope as well :)

I'm almost done with Made to Stick and have really enjoyed it. Just have the Epilogue left so feeling good about that. Here are some items of business:

1. Got some emails in response to a couple of my posts already. I don't mind that at all, but let's get in the habit of utilizing the comment function on the blog so we can communicate corporately and stay connected that way.
2. If you have a blog reader and have set up this blog on it, let me know and I'll take you off the list of getting automatic emails when a new post is put up.
3. Friday, 6:30pm, same-place. Looking forward to having at least 1 or 2 new peeps this week.

Also, Reid is probably out Friday because I think he's going to be in SLO, looking for houses? and maybe meeting with important people. We'll miss you Reid, especially since that might signal the end of your book club participation (unless you read while you are in Aust!)

We didn't do the formal process of "selling your books" during the proposal process, but this time if you are proposing a book, be prepared to have 2-3 minutes to try to sell us on why we should read your book. Special bonus points for using principles from Made to Stick while you do it :)

Finally, just got an email that I think qualifies as an urban legend from someone who routinely sends this stuff to me. Interesting reading this stuff through some of the categories we've seen from the book.

Here it is...

This incident happened recently in North Texas. A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in ICU She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from without using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stoc ked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.
